Sustainability in Organic Soil Management

  1. 100 % usage of on-farm compost produced under On – Farm Composting Method.

  2. Compost production solely through use of on-farm available green matter and pruning litter.

  3. Adoption of management practices to enhance soil microbial activity.

  4. Mulching operation to conserve soil moisture & to restrict nutrient loss from applied compost.

Focus on Qualitative Approach in Soil Management

It was understood from the very beginning that Quantitative Replacement of chemical fertilizers by organic sources will not be Economically Viable.

    1. Achieving high compost quality through adoption of an effective composting method which enables conversion within a short period of 21 days.

    2. Cost effective process enables compost production at < Rs. 0.80/kg.

    3. Regular Analysis as per International Standards to maintain Quality.

    4. Compost dose fixed as per soil test based recommendation and Plant Agronomic Efficiency of N Utilization (NUECN)

Sustained Crop even after applying Compost @ 1/3rd of Actual Requirement

On Farm Composting Methods enabled production of Quality Compost with very high population of Self- Generated Microbes, which create a favourable environment in soil for rapid rejuvenation of the native micro-flora population leading to very effective soil-plant relationship.

FACT

86% Lower N application under Organic for last 10 years as compared to that used to be applied in the garden under Conventional System.

STILL

      1. Significant improvement of Soil Organic Carbon Stock due to enhanced carbon sequestration.

      2. Positive N Balance Sheet of Soil is substantiated by horizon wise analysis up to the root zone.
